GOD’S WORKMANSHIP – OUR WORK

“Now pay attention; I am standing at the door and knocking. If any of you hear My voice and open the door, then I will come in to visit with you and to share a meal at your table, and you will be with Me. – Rev 3

God’s original design for work was perverted by sin, but we live knowing God will one day restore work without the burden of sin.  Until that time we cannot afford to forget the reality of work. Not toil. Not a curse. Not just a value. Not even economics. What is work?

Here’s what Jesus said about his work – YOU & ME!  “…we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago,  Eph 2.” We are a beautiful mess, His masterpiece. This is our true identity in Christ Jesus.

What is our work? The good things He planned for us long ago.

Our work, no matter how dreary or full of drudgery – is not what we do 9-5. Our work is working unto Him and glorifying Him. Our job is to seek, ask and knock on the door of opportunity (HEAVEN) for the good things He alone has planned for us.

Never forget the solace of work held in the hearts of the saints who came before us. Corrie Ten Boom found her calling in Christ in a dismal corner of the world – a death camp constructed for evil. This is the kind of work, God calls His masterpiece to be & do.

Work is of no value except when God is in it.
