The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance set aside by Congress the first Thursday of May. NDP invites Christians to pray for our leaders, nation and the seven centers of power.

Why Pray?
Prayer is our personal & corporate communication with God. Just like our founding fathers, it is our conduit for guidance, protection and strength. The Pilgrims at Plymouth relied on prayer filled hope during their first and darkest winter. Our fore-fathers also called for prayer during the Constitutional Congress to help them guide a nation toward righteousness. In their eyes, our recently created nation and freedoms were a direct gift from God. And being a gift from God, there was only one way to insure protection-through prayer.

There is no business more important than prayer. NDP rallies our our family, friends, neighbors, coworkers and churches to join in public prayers – seeking healing and blessing for our nation – practicing, protecting and preserving our freedoms to gather publicly to worship and pray.

Are you willing to commit to pray for our country seven days a week? Are you able to set aside time in your car, during your coffee break, or before bedtime? We want to challenge you make this prayer commitment. 7×7 involves praying for seven centers of power seven days a week: Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church and Family. By remembering these specific prayer points, we can cover all Americans with God’s power. Together, we will see positive change!
