America’s founding fathers sought God’s leadership as they interpreted the form of government He would bless. The Founding Fathers prayed diligently, debated forcefully and came to the conclusion – The 10 Commandments wrapped in Law, Love and Logic would provide security and freedom for the people. These biblical precepts became the building blocks for our ‘inalienable rights’.
Our God is the Supreme Triune Being consisting of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Governmentally, this nation is guided by laws determined in three parts: Executive, legislative & judicial. Continuing with the ‘three part’ paradigm, God made us in His image also beings with three parts – body, mind & spirit. To this end we are daily governed by three central precepts Law, Logic & Love.
LAW – Gives protection for living decently.
LOGIC – Gives direction for daily understanding & direction.
LOVE – Gives motivation for living, existing, serving and caring.
We are a nation of laws, but we are more than that we are people established on biblical principles. We are a people group governed principally by the logic of freedom and righteousness before God – undergirded in every regard by Love.
“Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing. Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, Here’s what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you’re worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he’s asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things.’’ 1Pet 3:8-12
Logic tells us this culture will change but God’s law & love will stand forever.
